2 Chandler men indicted for assaulting FBI agents during immigration raid

CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — A federal grand jury has indicted two East Valley men for allegedly assaulting FBI agents during an immigration operation earlier this month.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 42-year-old Jose Sarinana and 40-year-old Abran Villa Jr. are facing a charge of assaulting, resisting, and impeding a federal officer for an incident that happened on June 1.

Prosecutors say agents were assisting ICE, and that during that operation, federal authorities pulled over Villa’s vehicle and arrested a passenger who was in the country illegally. At that point, Villa reportedly returned to the home of the unidentified passenger and told Sarinana, who then returned to the arrest scene…
