Doctors, first responders say knowing your tolerance can save your life during extreme heat

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — With the high, triple-digit temperatures sticking around through this weekend and summer approaching, doctors and first responders said it’s important to know what your heat tolerance is.

Heat tolerance, or heat acclimation, refers to one’s ability to withstand high temperatures and hot conditions. According to Dr. Moneesh Bhoh with Banner Health, knowing your limits can save your life.

“At some point, your body will not be able to respond appropriately, and as long as you’re aware of what those signs and symptoms look like, then you’ll know to back off,” Dr. Bhoh said…
