Extreme heat warning continues through Monday across parts of Arizona

PHOENIX (AZFamily)— Our First Alert Weather Days continue through Monday as we track the Extreme Heat Warning through 8 p.m. Monday for central and western Arizona, and elevations below 4,000 in the Grand Canyon.

Sunday marked the warmest day of the year so far, with a high of 114 degrees in Phoenix, just one degree shy of the record but nine degrees warmer than the average for this time of the year. Expect a high of 112 degrees in Phoenix on Monday, and temperatures above 110 degrees continue through the work week, with even warmer temperatures by Thursday, at 114!

The National Weather Service will likely extend or reissue watches or warnings because of these very hot temperatures. Even our mountain areas will experience temperatures above normal…
