Man in rollover crash in Mesa urges drivers to stay off cellphones

MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — A car crash that nearly took the life of a Valley man has now pushed him to encourage drivers to stop texting and driving.

On June 8, Kenz Nuttall said he was driving westbound on the U.S. 60 in Mesa when another driver came into the HOV lane and slammed into him. The car flipped multiple times, and Nuttall’s car was thrown into the median at nearly 80 mph. “All I remember was this bang. It literally felt like a gunshot,” Nuttall said.

For nearly 10 minutes, Nuttall said he was trapped in his car and suffocated by his airbags and seatbelt. “The B-pillar on the Tesla had moved in so far and the airbags and seatbelt literally locked me in my seat, where I couldn’t move. I couldn’t breathe,” Nuttall said…
