Man Killed, Woman Wounded in Late-Night South Phoenix Shooting; No Suspects Sought

A fatal shooting in South Phoenix has left a man dead and a woman hospitalized with injuries described as not life-threatening. The incident, which occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m. near 7th and Southern avenues, unfolded on the night of June 28, with police arriving at a grim scene. “When officers got to the scene they learned of an adult male and an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound. Fire responded and pronounced the man deceased,” Sgt. Brian Bower of the Phoenix Police Department stated in a report obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix.

Meanwhile, 12 News reported that the woman, initially believed to have life-threatening injuries, was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment.
