Double Homicide Shocks Scottsdale Community, Engaged Couple in Their 20s Fatally Shot, Suspect at Large

The quiet of a Scottsdale neighborhood was shattered by gunfire on the night of June 30, which left two individuals dead inside a crashed car. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the incident occurred just before 10 p.m. near 115th Street and Sahuaro Drive. Scottsdale Police arrived on the scene where they discovered the car in a ditch, with both victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of the victims died at the scene while the other was transported to a hospital and later succumbed to their injuries. While the victims have not been formally identified by authorities, friends and family spoke to 12News, sharing that the deceased were a man and a woman in their 20s, and that they were newly engaged. “It feels very unfair and unfortunate,” a friend of the victim expressed, underscoring the tragic loss.

While the motivation behind this violent event remains unknown, the Scottsdale Police Department maintains that it appears to be an “isolated incident” and reassures the public there is no ongoing threat to the community.
