Longtime Arizona voters forced to reprove citizenship due to MVD glitch

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — More than 200,000 registered Arizona voters have begun receiving alarming notices in the mail.

They may be prevented from casting their ballots in next year’s governor’s race, because they need to prove their citizenship despite many of them are life-long residents and have been longtime voters.

“I have ancestors that have been in this country for over two centuries and now all of a sudden I have to prove that I’m a citizen. I am very upset,” said Julie Rys, a Phoenix Democrat who registered as a Republican for decades until 2021…
