McDonald’s drive-through shooting suspect may get plea deal; victim’s family ‘in turmoil’

Shots were fired in a quick turn of events on the winter’s early morning when Daniel J. Betker Jr. lost his life in a west Mesa drive-through.

A year and a half later, his family was still feeling the pain of his loss, which they told The Arizona Republic has only amplified as they learned the 22-year-old’s accused killer has been offered a plea deal.
