PHOENIX — A Tucson man was sentenced this week to 6 years in prison for human smuggling and drug charges, authorities said.
Jon Christian Schacht previously pleaded guilty to one count of possessing fentanyl with the intent to distribute it as well as one count of conspiring to transport undocumented migrants for profit, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona.
The 37-year-old was sentenced to two separate sentences of 72 months and 24 months, which he will serve concurrently, prosecutors said.
