Man arrested for allegedly stealing cell tower equipment across Arizona

BUCKEYE, AZ (AZFamily) — A man is in jail after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in high-tech equipment from cellphone towers across Arizona.

Buckeye police say 38-year-old Jeremiah Ramage broke into more than 35 cellphone towers in the Phoenix metro area. He then allegedly sold the stolen equipment on eBay.

On June 10, police responded to a break-in at a cellphone tower near Interstate 10 and Sun Valley Parkway. When they arrived, police learned that expensive equipment, including an industrial router, had been stolen. Detectives discovered that the equipment was being sold online and traced the information back to Ramage, a former contractor.

Over a month later, on July 17, detectives found Ramage driving near Sun Valley Parkway and Thomas Road and conducted a traffic stop. Investigators said they found cell tower equipment linked to burglaries in southern Arizona as well as a stolen gun. At his home, detectives said they recovered hundreds of items belonging to various cellphone service providers…
