Fans rally to help family-owned Phoenix restaurant reopen: ‘I cried for 3 days’

Kabob Grill N’ Go reopened on July 23 after an electrical fire shut down the restaurant on June 13.

The mom-and-pop shop is owned by an Armenian and Persian couple, Hasmik and Tony Chilingaryan, who serve kabobs with southwestern flair that have enamored The Republic’s critics, Guy Fieri and even the New York Times.

Plumes of grilled kabob smoke spilled into the alley behind the restaurant. “This one is done,” Tony’s voice announced, a sign that the beloved kabob shop was back in business…
