Layoffs will roll back Phoenix VA progress and lead to privatization, veteran and advocate says

It’s official: the VA plans to layoff nearly 30,000 of its 484,000 employees nationwide. It’s a step back from the 76,000 they were projected to cut earlier this year.

But while the agency says their “reduction-in-force” won’t disrupt care and benefits for veterans, many outside the agency aren’t convinced.
