Domestic violence shooting leaves woman dead in Chandler

CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — An apparent case of domestic violence ended with a woman shot to death at a Chandler apartment Friday afternoon, according to authorities.

Chandler police say they responded to a disturbance call around 5 p.m. at a home near Arizona Avenue and Galveston Street, which is north of Chandler Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found a woman unresponsive inside the apartment. She was pulled out and pronounced dead.

Around that time, a second woman told police that her adult son was armed and locked inside a bathroom, refusing to come out.

A SWAT crew ended up being called in, and authorities used less-lethal tools and a police K-9 to take a suspect into custody. He was then taken to the hospital for medical reasons…
