Pedestrian hit and killed by police SUV near Apache Junction identified

Authorities released the identity of the pedestrian killed by a police vehicle on U.S. 60 near Apache Junction.

The Pinal County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman killed in a July 28 crash as 33-year-old Briana Cisick. The Arizona Department of Transportation said the incident occurred at about 4 a.m. near South Silly Mountain Road on the eastbound side of U.S. 60.

ADOT said the pedestrian was struck by a Hayden Police vehicle, which the Arizona Department of Public Safety described as a Ford Explorer. The woman ran into the roadway near milepost marker 200 and was struck by the fully marked police vehicle, according to DPS spokesman Bart Graves…
