‘Sad and emotional time’: Toddler dies in drowning at Scottsdale condo complex

A child, 2, recently drowned at a condo complex in south Scottsdale, police said.

Around 10:30 a.m. July 29, officers responded to calls of a possible drowning near Scottsdale and McDowell roads, according to Officer Aaron Bolin, spokesperson for the Scottsdale Police Department.

The unidentified toddler was taken to a hospital, where they died on July 30. Circumstances surrounding what led to the drowning were under investigation by police, Bolin said. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner will ultimately determine the cause and manner of death…
