Small plane crashes after taking off from Phoenix-Goodyear Airport, killing pilot

PHOENIX – An investigation is underway after a small plane crashed in the West Valley this week, killing the pilot, authorities said.

The pilot, whose name was not released, was the only person aboard the Pitts S-1T aircraft when it went down, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
