RAINFALL TOTALS: Which parts of the Valley got the most rain Thursday night?

PHOENIX — Thunderstorms descended upon the Valley on Thursday, bringing some much needed moisture to what’s been a pretty uneventful monsoon.

Rainfall data from the Maricopa County Flood Control District shows several parts of the Valley received more than half an inch of rainfall within the last 24 hours. The northern and eastern regions of the Valley recorded some of the most rainfall throughout Thursday evening.

Here are the rainfall totals as of Aug. 15 at 8 a.m.:

  • Chandler Heights: 1.42″
  • North Canyon Creek: 1.22″
  • Arizona Hillcrest (Phoenix): 1.18″
  • McCormick Ranch (Scottsdale): 1.10″
  • North Scottsdale: 1.10″
  • Usery Mountain Regional Park: 1.10″
  • Taliesin West: 1.06″
  • Carefree: 1.06″
  • Sacaton: 0.98″
  • New River: 0.98″
  • Deer Valley: 0.94″
  • Sonoran Foothills (Phoenix): 0.91″
  • Desert Mountain: 0.87″
  • Falcon Mountain: 0.87″
  • Queen Creek: 0.83″
  • Lake Pleasant: 0.83″
  • Scottsdale Airport: 0.83″
  • Mesa Gateway Airport: 0.71″
  • Sun City West: 0.63″
  • East Mesa: 0.55″
  • South Mountain Park: 0.43″
  • Ahwatukee: 0.31″
