PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Two people were rescued off of the same Phoenix trail as the Valley grapples with extreme heat this weekend.
On Saturday, around 11 a.m., Phoenix fire crews responded to Cholla Trailhead at Camelback Mountain for reports of a hiker experiencing heat-related issues. Firefighters say the woman started around 7 a.m. and became overheated while on the trek.
Firefighters opted to fly the hiker off the mountain using Phoenix Police’s Firebird 10 helicopter. Once on the ground, the woman was loaded into an ambulance and taken to a Valley hospital in stable condition…
