Teen accused of fatally stabbing Maryvale High School classmate to remain in jail

The teenage boy accused of fatally stabbing a classmate in a Maryvale High School classroom last month will remain in a jail facility managed by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office for at least the rest of September.

Chris Aguilar, 16, stood next to his attorney, Vernon Lorenz, on the morning of Sept. 4, wearing an orange Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office jumpsuit with yellow sleeves as he told the judge his name and date of birth.

Aguilar was previously ordered to be held in a Sheriff’s Office jail as the juvenile probation department found him to be a potential danger to other youths in juvenile detention. He is being held on a $500,000 cash-only bond…
