Event helps Arizonans clear juvenile records, pave way for better opportunities

PHOENIX — Having a juvenile record can have a lifelong impact, which is why the Judicial Branch of Arizona and community partners are doing something to help people clear those records and restore their civil rights, like 18-year-old Brianna Mccomas.

“I was 16 going on 17, it was an aggravated assault charge. I had a little bit of an anger problem,” Mccomas said.

At the “Project Restore: My Record, My Rights” event, Superior Court judges reviewed cases on-site, issued same day rulings and helped people take immediate steps toward a fresh start…
