Mesa man gets 15 years in prison for drug trafficking, gun possession

A Mesa man, who was arrested in Georgia after fleeing Arizona prior to his trial, has been sentenced to 15.75 years in prison following being convicted of drug and weapons charges.

Calvin Coleman was indicted in December 2023 following the discovery of a parcel destined for Mesa with approximately 4.8 pounds of fentanyl pills inside, according to a release from the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.

Investigators identified Coleman as the person shipping and receiving illegal drugs. When authorities executed a search warrant at Coleman’s home, they found multiple firearms, fentanyl pills concealed in a baby formula container, dozens of prescription drugs (including Oxycodone), cocaine and a scale, officials said.“Investigators also located recordings taken from Coleman’s bedroom which captured Coleman engaging in drug deals and displaying weapons in violation of the law,” the release stated…
