Man who fired at Chandler police after woman he tied up escaped hotel room gets 25 years in prison

PHOENIX — A man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for firing at police officers answering a domestic violence call in Chandler, authorities announced Monday.

Cody Long, 33, shot at officers with the Chandler Police Department in March 2024, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

His charges included aggravated assault for strangling and kidnapping a woman at a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel at Interstate 10 and West Chandler Boulevard, according to initial police reports…
