Arizona State Fair returns with new food, classic rides and family fun

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Arizona State Fair is back for its 141st year! With classic rides, carnival games, wacky food, adorable animals and must-see concerts, it’s an annual favorite event of many Arizonans.

In this edition of Field Trip Friday, we are highlighting some favorite attractions, crazy concoctions, fun concerts and more.

September Nights Debut

This year, the fair is debuting “September Nights,” where guests can explore one-of-a kind performances and unforgettable fun. Beginning Sept. 19, guests can head to the fairgrounds to check out entertainment like lucha libre, pro wrestling, drone shows, BMX stunts, circus acrobats and more!

General admission tickets start at $10.29 if you buy online. The official Arizona State Fair starts on October 2, with gates opening at noon. However, September Nights is every evening in September, beginning at 5 p.m.

Goats, Cows, Chickens and More

A favorite attraction among many families is the petting zoo! Poultry, dairy goat, rabbits, sheep and pig shows are just among many events that will be held at the fair’s agricultural center. Plus, don’t forget to visit Kerr’s Farm Tours to watch the adorable baby animals play!

Crazy Food Concoctions

One thing you can’t miss when you’re at the state fair is all the crazy food options! There is a long list of new fair food this year, so make sure not to fill up before heading to the fairgrounds…
