Mesa utility rate hikes may advance Monday

It’s going to cost more for residential and commercial customers to turn on the tap, flush toilets and take out the trash as council is likely to move forward with proposed utility rate hikes.

Council on Monday, Sept. 22, is scheduled to act on a Notice of Intent, which sets the cap for across-the-board increases.

The limited customer base served by the city-owned utilities gas and electric also will see rates go up…
