Suspect admits to allegedly assaulting woman in Phoenix, records show

PHOENIX — A 24-year-old suspect has been arrested by Phoenix police for an alleged sexual assault that left a woman hospitalized with severe injuries.

Luis Tapia allegedly admitted to hitting and kicking a woman repeatedly during an assault reported on Aug. 14 near 44th and Oak streets, court records show.

Officers found the woman on the ground, covered in blood and wearing only a shirt. She was taken to the hospital, where she was treated in the ICU for various abrasions and fractures…
