Arizona Man Accused of Beating Woman ‘Beyond Recognition’ After She Used His Vape Without Permission

TEMPE, AZ — Prosecutors say a 32-year-old Tempe man carried out an “extremely vicious attack” against his romantic partner inside his apartment, beating her “beyond recognition” after discovering she had used his vape without permission.

Brutal Assault in Tempe Apartment

According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, Nicholas Vincuillo allegedly became enraged on Sunday, September 21, when he saw the woman use his vape pen while he was in the shower.

Prosecutors say Vincuillo:

  • Grabbed her and slammed her into a wall repeatedly
  • Punched and strangled her until she nearly lost consciousness
  • Threatened her with a firearm, pressing the barrel against her forehead
  • Forced her to clean up blood and dispose of her clothing after the attack

During a bond hearing, prosecutor Dawn Sauer said, “The victim was beaten beyond recognition. She had 36 documented injuries to her head alone.”

A forensic nurse described the injuries as among the five worst cases she had ever seen.
