Sept. 30 (UPI) — DoorDash on Tuesday unveiled its new autonomous delivery robot: Dot.
It’s the “first commercial autonomous delivery robot to seamlessly navigate bike lanes, roads, and sidewalks, and is purpose-built for local commerce,” the company said in a press release.
The robot was created in DoorDash’s in-house labs. It is meant for neighborhood delivery and is about one-tenth the size of a car, the company said.
Dot will begin an early-access program in Tempe and Mesa, Ariz. It will launch in Phoenix, and the company plans to expand to other markets…
