PHOENIX — A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a vehicle on Thursday, the Phoenix Police Department said.
On Oct. 2, around 7:10 p.m., officers were sent to the scene near 35th Avenue and McDowell Road for a crash involving a pedestrian. As officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as 58-year-old Gilbert Campas, with serious injuries.
He was treated and taken to the hospital, but police said he did not survive his injuries. Authorities said the vehicle involved in the crash left the scene and has not been found. The vehicle involved is described as a light-colored pickup truck…
