MCSO: Suspect stole man’s bike before stabbing him to death at Guadalupe bus stop

GUADALUPE, AZ (AZFamily) — A man is facing a first-degree murder charge after allegedly stabbing another man to death at an East Valley bus stop and stealing his bicycle, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said 36-year-old Roman Rubalcava was arrested on Tuesday with the help of the sheriff’s office detective and tactical unit, nearly one month after the body of 65-year-old Amalio Castillo-Villareal was found.

According to investigators, a patrol deputy found Castillo-Villareal dead behind a bus stop on Avenida del Yaqui, just north of Calle Guadalupe, in the town of Guadalupe on Sept. 11 where it was determined Castillo-Villareal had been stabbed…
