Bus riders in Phoenix should prepare for a wave of changes coming to their daily commute. Beginning October 27, 2025, the Phoenix Public Transit Department and Valley Metro will roll out service and schedule modifications aimed at improving the overall transit system. These updates, which include the rerouting of RAPID and Express routes to the Downtown Phoenix Hub, are part of an ongoing effort to upgrade the efficiency and connectivity of the city’s public transportation.
After months of detours forced by the South Central Extension/Downtown Hub and Greg Stanton Central Station projects, several routes are finally coming home to their intended paths. According to an announcement on the City of Phoenix website, the new Greg Stanton Central Station will open its doors, serving as a nexus for Routes 0, 1, 3, 7, 10, and the DASH circuit. Bus stops, shaken by the chaos of construction, will find their way back to more strategic locations in downtown Phoenix.
Furthermore, the Paradise Valley Transit Center is scheduled to make a move, a relocation that will affect Routes 44 and 138. Alongside these shifts, commuters can breathe a sigh of relief as the Washington/Central Ave light rail station plans to reopen, once again offering regular service throughout the day.
