Suspect wounded in September police shooting in Phoenix released from hospital, taken to jail

PHOENIX – Nearly two months after he was shot by police during an incident in Phoenix that left two officers injured, a suspect was released from the hospital and taken to jail last week, authorities said.

Francisco Torres, 22, was booked on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on Friday, according to jail records. His bond was set at $500,000.

Torres had been hospitalized since he was wounded on Sept. 2 while allegedly exchanging gunfire with officers at an apartment near 19th Avenue and Buckeye Road, according to the Phoenix Police Department…
