Mesa teacher gets 187 years in prison for crimes against students

MESA, Ariz. — An East Valley teacher has been sentenced to more than a century in prison for crimes committed against two of his former juvenile students.

Cory Kapahulehua, 44, was recently sentenced to 187 years in an Arizona prison after he was convicted of several felony offenses of child molestation and sexual conduct with a minor, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
