Phoenix approves $5.2 million lawsuit settlement after toddler was struck by a police vehicle

The Phoenix City Council has approved a $5.2 million lawsuit settlement in connection with a police vehicle having struck a child. The settlement stems from June of 2023, when court records say a Phoenix police vehicle was speeding and hit a toddler.

The child was reportedly in a roadway in a neighborhood south of downtown. They survived and are now about 5 years old.
