PHOENIX — Long lines formed at St. Mary’s Food Bank on Thursday as people waited 45 minutes to an hour for a box of food. The nonprofit warns the situation could worsen when federal SNAP benefits stop being loaded onto EBT cards Saturday, Nov. 1.
“We don’t have any money right now, so we’re just trying to get some food to eat for my mom, especially my mom, because she’s sick right now,” one man named David said, while waiting in line.
