Flooding leads to road closures west of Phoenix area

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) said the following closures are in effect (as of 1:30 p.m.) due to water on the road:

  • Old US Highway 80 (both directions) between Agua Caliente and Desert Rose roads
  • Wintersburg Road & Indian School Road
  • 214th Avenue & Narramore Road

Drivers are encouraged to “Turn Around, Don’t Drown” and not attempt to drive through flooded roads. MCSO advised drivers in the area to look for alternate routes.

The Salome Highway was previously closed in both directions between 351st and 339th avenues, but the county says it reopened around 11 a.m.
