Showers, thunderstorms are likely tonight across parts of Arizona

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — More than an inch of rain fell in some West Valley locations on Tuesday, with more expected. A strong low-pressure system is moving in from California. It’s a slow-moving system so that it will keep the Valley under pretty strong rain chances through Wednesday night.

And even though we’re not expecting much severe weather, we did get a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Avondale early in the afternoon. We expect a continuation of rather moderate rain, though it may briefly become heavy. Since the ground is already saturated, we need to keep an eye out for flash flooding.
