Mesa man sold four fentanyl pills for $40. Now he’s going to prison for 108 months.

MESA, Ariz. — A Mesa has been sentenced to prison for selling fentanyl pills to a person who later fatally overdosed in the East Valley.

Dominik I. Lopez, 24, was sentenced in federal court to 108 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to distribution of fentanyl, resulting in death, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of Arizona.

In March 2020, a man was found dead in an apartment in Gilbert and his death was caused by fentanyl toxicity. Prosecutors said the victim had contacted Lopez through the Whisper app and Lopez sold the individual four fentanyl pills for $40…
