PHOENIX — A medical helicopter landing next to a pool at the Arizona Grand Resort Friday evening wasn’t an emergency, but it drew plenty of attention as first responders staged a full-scale drowning simulation for a national audience of medical professionals.
The demonstration was part of the Cardiac Arrest Survival Summit, where hundreds gathered to observe how quickly and seamlessly teams must work to save a child in a drowning emergency. Arizona consistently ranks among the states with the highest child drowning rates.
