The Arizona Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee has announced the honorees for the 2026 AZ MLK Awards for Excellence in Service. The awards recognize individuals, organizations, and businesses that have demonstrated significant commitment to advancing Dr. King’s vision of civic engagement through impactful service in Phoenix and surrounding communities, according to the City of Phoenix.
The Honorable Cody Williams has been honored with the Dr. Martin Luther King–Calvin C. Goode Lifetime Achievement Award for his longstanding contributions to the community. Rose Hanne, Courtney Hemphill, Mara Northey, and Sascha Reveron received the Dr. Martin Luther King Living the Dream Award in recognition of their efforts reflecting the principles Dr. King championed. Additionally, the 100 Black Men of Phoenix and the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) Arizona were named finalists for the AZ MLK Drum Major for the Community Award, honoring individuals and organizations who exemplify leadership and service in line with Dr. King’s vision.
