‘Bad joke’ on Tempe ruined woman’s life

She was alone on a Mill Avenue corner in downtown Tempe, no phone, no wallet, no way back to her home in Tucson. Kathleen “Kadi” Tierney was dazed after an encounter with Tempe Police Sept. 24.

Her world had been rocked. Police alleged that she threatened a Tempe City Council meeting in a social-media post on Aug. 28. The meeting was postponed, the building evacuated and Tierney eventually arrested.

A news release and her mugshot were all over Arizona. It would cost her her job, and with it her health insurance…
