Bank manager found guilty of embezzling $655,000 from Mesa branch

MESA, Ariz. — A Mesa woman has been found guilty of embezzling funds from a bank she managed in the East Valley.

Brooke McDonough, 35, was convicted of multiple offenses following a two-week trial that ended this month in federal court, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office of Arizona.

Between June 2021 and February 2022, the defendant embezzled $655,000 from a bank she managed in Mesa. Prosecutors say the defendant stole cash out of ATM machines and the branch’s vault then deposited the stolen cash into personal accounts by using ATMs at other banks…
