Man hospitalized for arm wound after getting shot by police in West Valley

PHOENIX – A West Valley police officer shot a man carrying a gun in the arm early Friday, authorities said.

Police responded to a home near Rainbow Road and Sundance Parkway to investigate a fight involving multiple subjects around 3:45 a.m., according to the Buckeye Police Department.

“The first arriving officer saw a man armed with a gun. Shortly after, an officer-involved shooting occurred,” Carissa Planalp, a Buckeye Police spokesperson, said in a media advisory.
