Arizona DPS urges drivers to slow down after 2 excessive speeding arrests

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Arizona Department of Safety is warning drivers to slow down after two separate high-speed arrests.

On Dec. 15, troopers arrested a 17-year-old boy for allegedly hitting speeds up to 118 mph on an East Valley freeway. The incident happened just before 7:30 p.m.

A trooper entering the freeway from Country Club Drive saw a blue Ford Mustang passing multiple cars and weaving through traffic. DPS said as the trooper attempted to catch up, the driver continued switching lanes and speeding…
