Christmas Day Multi-Car Collision Leads to Man Hospitalized, Hit-and-Run Suspect Sought in Phoenix

During the waning hours of December 25, Phoenix Police Department responded to a multi-car collision at the intersection of 107th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, when officers arrived shortly after 12:35 a.m., they discovered two vehicles had been involved in a crash and a third vehicle had fled the scene. “When officers arrived, they located two vehicles involved and were informed the third vehicle had left the scene eastbound on Lower Buckeye Road,” the statement read.

Phoenix Fire crews were called to extract a man from one of the cars, who was subsequently transported to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The car that left the scene was later found abandoned at a separate location. Police have encouraged those with any relevant information to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS, or Testigo Silencioso at 480-TESTIGO for Spanish speakers.

In a separate incident, a Phoenix police SUV was involved in a collision with another vehicle near 23rd Avenue and Camelback Road on Christmas Eve. Right before 1 a.m., a car reportedly turned left in front of the northbound marked police SUV. In this incident, both police officers inside the SUV and the driver of the other vehicle were present when emergency services arrived and all three were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
