Following it’s release on Sept. 26, 1966, the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport (SS) became one of the brand’s most popular vehicles.
With its development being dubbed the “Mustang Beater” — a nod to Chevrolet’s competition with the Ford Mustang — the SS package featured the debut of the 350 cubic-inch V8, or 396 cubic-inch big-block V8, offering up to 375 horsepower. Out from under the hood, the vehicle maintained a long hood, with a short deck and a muscular style, giving it an iconic look to start a generation of popular Chevrolet models.
