SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A man is facing multiple charges after police say he left his dog inside a locked car outside a Scottsdale apartment complex before becoming combative with officers and hospital staff over the weekend.
Scottsdale police said Refael Eliav was arrested late Saturday night near Scottsdale Road and Palm Lane, just north of McDowell Road.
Investigators said they were called to an apartment complex in the area around 9 p.m. after a dog was found left behind in a locked car. Police said officers arrived to find Eliav refusing to identify himself, even though he was told that he was being detained.
Eliav reportedly then “actively resisted,” police said. After some time, officers were reportedly forced to use a stun gun on him to put him in handcuffs. He was taken to the hospital. Once there, police said he threatened both medical workers and officers…
