Chandler Police stated they arrested two men after a Monday, Jan. 5 evening incident at the city’s largest shopping mall.
Police stated, in a news release, that officers responded to a call at about 8:45 p.m. at the Chandler Fashion Center for a report of two men threatening another man with guns near the food court.
All three men were found by responding officers, arguing in a nearby retail store, the release states. The two younger men, Jalen Bails-Bacchus and Jeremiah Bagby, had guns on them and were immediately arrested. Through witness interviews, video surveillance and other evidence, officers determined an older third man, John Lathrop, initially approached the two younger men and made physical threats before attempting to strike them. During this altercation is when Bails-Bacchus and Bagby pulled out guns and pointed them at Lathrop, the release states.
