Arizona Woman Locates Injured Husband in Motorcycle Accident Thanks to Crash Detection Device

An Arizona woman, acting on a notification from a crash detection device, located her husband following a motorcycle accident before emergency services were alerted. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Jan. 2 along New River Road between Carefree Highway and the I-17.

Brooke Hayes received an urgent message from the Cardo Packtalk Pro Bluetooth device equipped in her husband Dustin’s helmet, “I got a message on my phone saying ‘urgent,’ and just so I opened it,” Brooke recounted to FOX 10 Phoenix, “Dustin might have been in a car accident or an accident, so I was like, ‘I’ll just drive out there, it’s 30 minutes away, just to double-check.” Despite his 20-plus years of experience riding motorcycles, Hayes was found by his wife in a location not easily visible from the road.

Reporting on the same story, Yahoo News noted that Brooke believes Dustin might have swerved to avoid an animal, leading to the crash. The aftermath left him in a critical state, Brooke told Yahoo News, “He was in extremely bad shape. I’ll never get the image out of my head.”…
