Resident death case settlement bars former assisted living owners from operating in state for 5 years

The former owners of an assisted living community at the center of a lawsuit over the death of a resident who wandered from the building have agreed to a consent judgment that bars them from operating an assisted living community or healthcare facility in the state for five years.

They also must pay a $20,000 civil penalty.
