Contracts not renewed for Mesa High School administrators after reporting failures

MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — The fate of two Mesa High School administrators was decided Monday over their actions regarding reporting a gun on campus during last February’s fight at the school.

The Mesa Public Schools Governing Board voted 4-1 to not renew the contracts of the school’s principal, Kirk Thomas, and athletic director David Klecka.

“Non-renewal is not disciplinary and this action is not a termination,” a district spokesperson said in an emailed statement…
